Flower Power - show off your summer style in trendy floral prints

How wonderful that floral patterns are now an integral part of the fashion world and - especially in summer - an absolute must-have. You can find the trendy floral print on dresses, jackets, T-shirts, and sweaters, as well as on fashionable accessories like floral hairbands, bags with floral prints, or light floral scarves. You probably already guessed it, this blog will be colorful and vibrant! Since summer is practically around the corner, I'm introducing you to our current floral dresses. Many different dress variations with floral prints await you - whether maxi dresses, mini dresses or tunic dresses, large flowers, small flowers or a floral paisley print - there were no limits to the variety in our Flower Power Collection.

Floral prints - an old pattern reinterpreted

What we consider an absolute trend in 2020 has actually been around in the fashion world for many years. Already back in Egypt, lotus flowers were worn as an important symbol on clothing, and in the Middle Ages, the nobility wore elaborately woven dresses with opulent, eye-catching floral patterns. This was then "modernized" in the 1940s, when the well-known "Aloha shirt" from Hawaii became internationally famous. A new wave of floral print trends came in the 1970s: Right, through the hippie movement - when clothing and appearance were all about "Flower Power".

Back to the 70's

And it was precisely the hippie era that inspired us to revive colorful floral patterns and to transport ourselves back to that harmonious time. Which - what a coincidence - leads me directly to the first two looks. Because with our mini dress "Linda", everything revolves around "peace, harmony & nature" - Welcome back to the 70s!

With the dress "Linda" in black, the "peace" sign is in focus, combined with flowers to match the connection to nature and the "Flower Power" idea. And with this floral print, one thing becomes clear: anything is possible! Whether flowers in purple, yellow, pink or orange, flowers small or large - this dress really makes you long for summer. What I particularly like about the dress is that in addition to the peace signs and flowers, there are also hidden paisley elements, watermelon prints stand out, and lettering with the words "Love" and "Peace" have been incorporated. Alternatively, the dress "Linda" is also available in a vibrant orange-pink-yellow combination - the dress literally radiates summer vibes! Our straw bag "Amelie" also goes perfectly with it, picking up the light beige tones of the dress. Alternatively (or both together), you can also wear a straw hat with both dresses - whether a slightly smaller sun hat or the currently trendy XXL straw hat - the decision is yours. I chose a great sun hat here that goes perfectly with the dress with its black stripes.

Before I finish, a few important details about the cut: It's a loose and airy cut, meaning the dress can also be worn in size 42. Additionally, it has a wide U-neckline, which can be tied and made smaller with the tassels, if desired.

Maxi Dresses with Floral Print - The 2020 Trend

If there's one thing clear among fashion lovers this season, it's that maxi floral dresses are the summer fashion piece of 2020. Why are they so popular? They are wide, airy, can be worn with or without a belt, and are also an eye-catcher in winter with tights and boots! As you know, I'm a huge fan of red and pink, which is why I chose the "Kylie" dress for this look. This long dress features larger floral prints, predominantly in red and pink. What I particularly love about this dress are the yellow and light blue color elements incorporated into the floral pattern. Here too, we have many different types of flowers (I'd love to tell you which ones, but unfortunately I have absolutely no green thumb) that are playfully printed on the dress along with leaf prints. Our "Classic" silk scarf in pink goes perfectly with the dress, which you can tie around your head as a scarf - and your flower power look is complete!

Tunic Dresses with Floral Patterns - 4 Everyday Looks

They are highly coveted in summer: short dresses. You'll also find mini dresses with many different floral prints with us. Since the selection is so large, I've picked out 4 different looks for you, focusing primarily on blue, pink, and red tones. My secret favorite among the short dresses is the tunic dress "Mariana" with a sweet daisy print (even I recognize those). I think these dresses are simply great for summer, whether with sandals or white sneakers, I guarantee you'll be an absolute eye-catcher! Whether for a shopping trip, for the office, or for a meeting with your best friend - the straw bag "Vicky" goes perfectly with the dress, which not only looks good but also has super storage space. You can get the dress from us in red or in light blue and - an important note for maxi dress lovers among us - this dress is also available in long!

For those who aren't quite as keen on daisies, I have another great alternative: the tunic dress "Rosie" with an all-over floral print. With this dress, you can choose between a version in pink or blue and, if desired, combine it again with our "Classic" silk scarf. This is also perfect for throwing over your shoulders if you're out and about in the evening. The combination with white automatically creates a summery look and can therefore also be worn wonderfully as a beach tunic with a straw hat and beach bag.

Both dresses feature our classic tunic cut with a V-neckline that buttons, wide trumpet sleeves, and a lovely flounce. This time, however, you have a slightly longer sleeve length. Since the dress is made of 100% viscose, meaning it's very airy and light, it's still suitable for hot days.

Floral prints in a vintage look

Inspired by the retro/vintage style, we have designed a dress that is perfect for vintage fashion lovers: The "Flora" dress. As the name of the dress already suggests, flowers are definitely the focus here. The base color of the dress is black and large, light flowers in white, pink and orange have been printed on it. This ensures that the flowers stand out even better due to the contrast. This time, different floral prints were chosen again, including large, beautiful roses that automatically give the dress even more exquisiteness and elegance. Here too, we have a slightly wider cut, long sleeves and a beige cord that contrasts perfectly with the rest of the dress. The dress can be worn as a mini or midi dress - depending on your height. Because, compared to the dresses in the previous section, this midi dress is cut a bit longer and thus goes over the knees. If you wear a belt with it, you can revive the classic mini dress look. Since the floral pattern of the dress is mainly kept in white and beige, our "Berta" bag in a dark beige tone goes perfectly with it. This gives your look even more individuality and extravagance, as it was elaborately crafted with a special braiding pattern.

Last but not least: Blouses with floral print

Actually, the focus of the blog should be on floral dresses, but I think we also have two beautiful blouses in our Flower Power collection that perfectly capture the theme. That's why I thought I'd still show you these two looks. Both blouses combine flowers with the popular paisley pattern - so 2 in 1.

Brief info on Paisley: Paisley has existed since the 15th century and originally comes from Persia. In the 17th century, the pattern was then brought from India to Europe and is now highly coveted when it comes to clothing, home textiles, and accessories.

But now back to the blouses: Here I have our "Janina" blouse in white, on which a subtle, delicate floral paisley pattern has been printed. The floral pattern is depicted in many different colors, and yet the blouse doesn't look overloaded. This is due to the white base color of the blouse and the harmonious interplay of red, blue, and yellow tones. You can wear the floral blouse perfectly in summer with a skirt or white trousers. To spice up your look a bit more, you can grab a silk scarf again (you'll notice this scarf always works) and tie it around your head. For a more casual look, you can simply take our white "Rike" sweatpants - and your street style outfit is complete!

The other blouse I want to show you is a bit more playful and focuses on beige and red tones: The "Bloomy" blouse. Here you have both the paisley pattern and the floral print in smaller, detail-loving elements. With this blouse, I always feel like I discover something new every time I look at it. My little highlight, however, are the cords of the blouse, because wooden beads have been incorporated there, which perfectly pick up the playful touch of the blouse. Another advantage of the blouse is that you can adjust the sleeve length - rolled up in summer, the long version in winter.
