Dresses in Winter - with a sweater over your dress, be an eye-catcher even on cold days!

Have you discovered the new dresses, sweaters, triangle scarves, and blouses in our Spring/Summer Pre-Collection yet?

I'm so excited that lighter clothes are finally available again. And I'm especially thrilled that there's a great selection of beautiful dresses once more. Whether long or short dresses, black or red dresses, midi, maxi, or mini dresses – I'm simply a complete dress fan.

The classic summer dress, the white beach dress, or the airy tunic – dresses are somehow always automatically associated with hot days. Which is a shame, really, because dresses are also great in winter for looking stylish on cold days. With great, summery dresses with prints, you can easily add a spring-like flair to your winter outfit and exude good vibes. How is that supposed to work? I'll show you!

You've guessed it? That's right, wearing a sweater with a dress! A dress with a sweater is simply this year's mega-trend. Especially perfect with a dress are great plain knit sweaters. Knit sweaters are an all-rounder for the whole year and thus perfectly enhance your favorite summer dress. If you combine your knit sweater with a dress, you no longer have to worry about your dress sitting in your closet until summer!

So today I want to show you how you can implement the layering look. For this, I chose our knit sweater with V-neck "Kirsten" – with its simple design and wide cut, it's simply perfect! I also picked out a few new dresses from our Pre-Collection. One thing was particularly important to me when selecting: patterns, patterns, patterns!

Eye-catching patterns and prints are a must when it comes to the dress-with-sweater trend. As you know, at Zwillingsherz, we love striking patterns. Patterned dresses are simply ideal for adding momentum and even more individuality to an outfit. So, let's go!

Be wild!

What would a post about patterned dresses be without leopard print dresses? Leopard dresses are simply suitable for any weather. Fashion Week 2020 in Berlin showed: Leo print is a must-have in your wardrobe again this year. You probably know the classic leopard dresses in brown and black, but our long green dress "Leslie" is simply a colorful eye-catcher and, as they say, "just something different." But the color green alone isn't enough for me – so how about a vibrant orange? The leopard dress "Leslie" has small orange elements – so it's perfect for wearing an orange knit sweater with the dress.

Polka Dot Love!

Polka dot dresses with a zebra print triangle scarf? Sounds daring at first, but it's not! If you wear our white and black dress "Eva" with a black sweater, you create a color contrast and can therefore combine it with a cool patterned triangle scarf without hesitation. Since animal print always works, I opted for this variation. Of course, you can never go wrong with pure black and white looks, but with the bright pink hat, there's simply much more eye-catching potential, isn't there?

Flower Power!

Flowers only in summer? No way! Floral prints are indispensable in the wardrobe this summer. Inspired by the 70s, floral prints have become a favorite of great designers for dresses. That's why I chose the short, blue dress "Lea" for you. The dress with a floral print creates a playful, feminine look. With the interplay of blue tones – the light blue knit sweater "Kerstin" and the royal blue hat "Joyce" – you are totally on trend with the color "Classic Blue" for the coming season and demonstrate absolute style with the dress combination.

Let it stripe!

Stripes have become an absolute trend pattern for blouses and dresses. Our white dress "Elena" features delicate, light blue stripes that automatically make your look appear airy and friendly. The striped dress with a dark blue sweater and pink hat perfectly picks up the colors of the subtly integrated butterfly pattern. Super cute and summery! Combined with dark tights, boots, and our scarf "Charlotte" (yes, it was named after me), the look is perfect for cold days!

Perfect with Paisley!

Paisley dresses are colorful, exciting, and super easy to combine! Our colorful dress "Natascha" (the dress will be online soon!) has a great mix of blue, orange, and white – so you also have the choice of which knit sweater you want to wear with the dress. I chose the white sweater – simple elegance with little effort. A little tip from me: If you buy the sweater one size larger, you can wear it casually as an oversized sweater with the dress. That makes your outfit look even cooler!

So you see: dresses always work! The combination of a dress and a sweater is simply perfect for showcasing your favorite summer dresses beautifully even on cold days. The important thing is to be daring and not shy away from wearing colors and patterns. Many don't dare to wear dresses with striking prints – but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained! So don't hesitate to reach for a long leopard dress, a bright paisley dress, or a dress with a stripe print and make spring-like statements with your look!

A few final tips from me so you don't go wrong with the dress-and-sweater look:

1) Knit sweaters whose colors are already present in the dress are particularly suitable. This creates a common thread in your outfit and, despite patterns or bright colors, brings calm and balance.

2) To make your sweater fit even better, feel free to use a small waist belt. If you pull the sweater out at the top, your sweater looks super casual. At the same time, the belt helps you adjust long dresses better to your height.

3) Boots and tights! Ankle boots, biker boots, or beautiful suede boots with suitable warm tights perfectly complete your look. But stay away from ballerinas – they make you look shorter!

I hope I was able to inspire you again and give you new outfit ideas. The important thing is always: Stay true to yourself – if you like something, then wear it!

See you soon,

Your Charlotte
